Hushi, Abba

Hushi, Abba
(1898-1969)
   Israeli labour leader. He was born in Galicia and emigrated to Palestine in 1920. He served as secretary of the Haifa Labour Council (1938-51), as Mapai member of the Knesset (1949-51), and as Mayor of Haifa (1951-69).
